21-Postal History 1941 to 1945
The World War II international usages of this series are varied. Several types of censorship were used depending on the stage of the war, and the destination country. The early British censorship covers have a paper seal. The cover below is an example. It is addressed to Yorkshire and bears singles of the 20cLC, 50 centavos, and 1 Peso. I show a detail of the 20cLC. Below this cover, I show other examples of censorship. |

Below is a cover showing Brazilian censorship reading "ABERTA PELA CENSURA," and with a small marking identifying the reader as R.S. 712. The cover bears a 30 centavos specimen, of which I show a detailed image below. |

Below is a U.S. censorship tape cover. This is by far the most common type. The cover below is addressed to New Orleans, L.A., with singles of the 5c1Et, and the 2P1E. I show a detail of the 2 Pesos below. I also show a detail of the BUENOS AIRES 56 postmark in the section dedicated to these postmarks. |
