Buenos Aires "Agencia," "Ambulante," and "Aereo."
I do not know at this point much about the "Agencia" and "Ambulante" usages, except that the "Agencia" label seems to suggest the use of satellite post offices for some neighborhoods of Buenos Aires, and "Ambulante" implies the use of local couriers. I need to verify my hunches about these postmarks, though, and at this point I am only guessing. The "Aereo" usages are clearly only for air mail, and likely only for covers emanating from Buenos Aires on international flights. Below is a cover bearing an "AGENCIA P (POSTAL) / 5 B.A." postmark, dated May 9, 1940, 8 PM, to Switzerland. The cover bears two rare stamps on cover: the 20cLC1E and the 5P1E. |

| Below is a cover bearing three 10c Rivadavia Reds postmarked with a OF (OFICINA) POSTAL AMBULANTE No 85 to Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil. This cover travelled over a short distance since this is a Southern Brazilian city and Buenos Aires is located near the Northern border of Argentina with Brazil. |

Below is an air mail cover bearing a SERV. (SERVICIO) AEROPOSTAL postmark dated April 19, 1936, to Cologne, Germany. This is a standard 1.15 pesos rate, and the 1 peso stamp is from the earliest and short lived 1 peso with boundaries issue, the 1PL1E. |
