Below are three specimens showing variations on the entry of the "ONE PENNY" value into the die, as well as two specimens with minor plate varieties affecting the left upper corner of the design. The Australia 1913 1d Kangaroo Red is the most affordable value in this series. Here I show some color shades, plate varieties, and postmarked specimens.
The specimen shown left shows a slight entry "smear" along the vertical length of the "Y" of "PENNY," as illustrated below.
The specimen shown left shows a slight entry along the vertical length the "E PENN" portion of "ONE PENNY," as illustrated below. The entry into the plate seems to have caused the absence of the line above the value designation.
The specimen shown left shows a slight entry along the entire vertical length of "ONE PENNY," as illustrated below. In addition, there are significant "smears" to the right and below the value designation.
Below is a specimen with a minor nick affecting the top-most inner vertical line and the top outer line.
Below is a specimen with a major outer "slide in" of the upper outer rim line. There is also a noticeable break in one of the vertical background lines approximately twenty vertical lines from the top.
