Article 11: India 2 Rupees 1980s Textiles Definitive

The 437 covers in this correspondence comprise a total of 97 rates. No doubt the Indian Postal System could reduce this rate complexity. Most of these covers are the same size, are registered, and sent from India to New York. The equivalent rate structure for the U.S. or German postal systems would entail at most ten rates. I have in this article a selection of rates using the 2 Rupees Textiles: rates with one or two specimens, three or four specimens, and six and seven specimens. Below I show the quantities of each rate found here, and highlight in green the rates represented in the pages linked here. Quick links: the article, the rates, usages with 1 or 2 stamps, 3 or 4 stamps, and 6 or 7 stamps.

The India Modern Definitives make other very common definitives, with the notable exception of the U.S. first class rate definitives, seem rare by comparison.
