The 1935-51 Definitives of Argentina

"cents" Cover to Washington D.C., U.S.A. November 12, 1945

This cover was mailed to Washington D.C., U.S.A. three months after Japan surrendered. The cover represents a complete run by denomination for 1945 between 1/2 centavo and 15 centavos, but not by specific issues. By this time, the various 1E, some of the CL, and all of the NGR printings had already been issued. Here are quick lines to pages for the three major groups: philatelic exhibition covers, covers that are quite likely philatelic, and covers that seem to represent regular use.
Below is a detail of the stamps on this cover. The cover bears a single 1/2 centavo, likely a 05cNGR, with its tell-tale rough look. It bears the three typographed "cents" values on clay paper, 1cCLt, 5cCLt, and 10CLt, and the 4cGR1E, 8c1E, and 12cR1E. The 2 c, 3 c, 6 c. and 15 c. could be 1E or NGR issues. Based on how rare the 15cG1E is, I am guessing the 15c Guemes on this cover is a 15cGNGR.
