World Definitive Issues

Argentina 1935-51 5 Pesos Minor Plate Varieties

The minor plate varieties are scarce, considering that these stamps have been selected from dozens of 5 Pesos stamps from all the issues. Immediately below are singles of the 5p1L and the 10P1L. The 5P1L has a mangled lower line. This 5 Pesos plate study is divided into several major sections: there are several major plate varieties for which I have at least two specimens, and there are several minor plate varieties, represented here by one specimen. I also have a section for printing shifts, specimens with overall plate wear, and multiples showing at least one plate variety. Below, I include thumbnails to the major plate varieties. The thumbs are also linked.
Here are details of two individual 5PNOP's. The first 5PNOP, pictured left and top, had a break in the line under the "N" of "ARGENTINA," as well as a line bend below "BL" in "REPUBLICA." Below is a detail from the second 5PNOP, showing a clear line break below the "P" of "REPUBLICA."
Below are two 5P1L's. The first has a line break, and the second a scratch outside the right edge.
