Issues printed on the paper with the first watermark were in use between 1936 and 1945 (and this watermark was also used on the late printings-1L). There is a wide range of shades, and there are several distinct papers. Quick links: design / issues ( 1E NGR NOP 2 1L )


Early and late printings of the 1E are shown below. Left is a specimen postmarked September 17, 1936, and right is a specimen postmarked April 7, 1943. Notice the later stamp has a slightly worn impression.
